The idea that, since the proliferation of child-targeted marketing in the 1980's, colors and flavors have become synonymous terms. Especially when reffering to artificially flavored children's breakfast cereals, candy, and sugar-based drinks.

"What flavor popsicle did you get John?"

"I got orange, what did you get?"

"Mine's purple."
