UNITA

Portugese acronym for National Union for the Total Independence of Angola. UNITA was a Western-backed Guerilla organization that fought the Cuban-backed MPLA for many years, until a peace agreement was brokered in 1991. Of course, they contested the MPLA's strong showing in the elections of 1992 and fighting renewed. A (supposedly) final peace agreement was reached in 1994.

Fighting has broken out yet again. When will they learn?
