She has been Queen of The Netherlands since 30 April 1980 (the birthday of Princess Juliana). The birthday of the Queen is celebrated on that day, Queen's Day.

Queen Beatrix has been married to the German diplomat Claus von Amsberg since 10 March 1966. They have three children: : Prince Willem-Alexander (1967), Prince Johan Friso (1968) en Prince Constantijn (1969).
