Plutarch

Plutarch was a historian of both Greece and Rome. He was born in Greece, in the town of Chaironeia. He later travelled to Rome and Egypt. He wrote "The Lives of the Noble Greeks and Romans," which contrasts the life of an important figure in Greek history with an important figure in Roman history. He was married and had 5 children, of these 2 sons survived. He died in AD 120.

Besides being a historian, Plutarch was a philosopher he had a philosophy similar to Plato's. He wrote many philosophical dialogues, including one on Which came first: the chicken or the egg?.
