who knows if grass
is little bunches of hair
that sprout up from the ground?
the earth wants a style like
marilyn monroe,
with twisted blond curls
falling over its eyes.
it begs us against destruction,
but instead we jump
like lice
and spit at the earth's
dream of beauty.
