Before
-leaves fall and swirl,
- frost sweetens the ground
-birds fly in precision

When
- days grow short
- shadows stretch out
- heat no longer lingers

Notice
-the taste of it,
-thin and crisp
-cool water after months of lukewarm

Autumn illuminates
all of our senses, each in its own way,
but not a single one,

Before
-we inhale.
