In the early 19th century, a resurgence of interest in Irish culture. Not widespread or supported until Irish statehood achieved in the 1920's. A revival of Irish language which is now a requirement in schools and for entry into university and government jobs. Also it organized support for Irish culture, including music, dance, literature, folklore.
