Damad is a local Savannah, Ga band that recently broke up as of December 2000. To describe their music is to trancend labels and genres, but for those who feel more comfortable with classification, they would be Emo-Violence. Darkly textured and haunting melodies mix with heavy riffs and crunching guitars is what runs through out their releases (2 full length albums, several 7" and compilations). Aside from the complex yet emotional sound, lead vocalist Victoria Scalisi plunges into the depths of human kind with her gutteral and low vocals. Damad has world wide fanbase, but will always remain an underground jewel for music. Intensity, Horror, Confusion, Desperation. Rarely can one group turn these words into beauty.
