A British painter, from Manchester and of Nigerian descent. Winner of
the 1998 Turner Prize for his, uh, funki-fresh works. Currently the whipping boy for New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani, as Rudy's biological clock tells him it's time to campaign for the US Senate - Ofili's The Holy Virgin Mary (part of an upcoming exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum of Art) contains, among other things, clumps of dried "elephant dung"; Rudy aims to make it this year's Piss Christ.
