Tonight I travel Northbound
To locate treasures in the snow
My friend is there
She'll meet me
By the fence that heads the road
My bag is light
But burden bows my shoulder
My cross is heavy
And the wind is cold
I know things it is not my business to know
I have seen things I'd rather forget
I have struggled and survived
But I know the way home
And I've learned it's best to rise above regret
I can't expect you to know or understand
What pushes me forward
The language of my reasoning
Is not of your dialect
But your good will I do appreciate
And you love, I underestimate
You have surprised my inner cynic
