Balthazar (also Belthasar and Balthasar) is the name of one of the Three Wise Men (magi) in the Bible. The other two are Melchior and Gaspar (also Casper). The name is found in the Squaresoft game Chrono Trigger and the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. In Chrono Trigger, Belthasar is the guru of Reason and in Evangelion, Balthasar is one of the magi -- part of NERV's supercomputer.
