I recently received a letter from the state bar association with a form to fill out. A friend of mine is going to get her law license for my state and I was one of her references.

At the end of the form is a question asking if I knew if my friend was a member of any organization that appears on "Attorney General of the United States list of subversive organizations." My reaction was twofold. First, I don't know - I don't know who is on the list and second, cool! There is a list!?.

The below is the best list I could find after extensive research. The list was compiled during the McCarthy era.
