In the late eighties Hanna-Barbera came out with this re-vamped version of the seventies original, shrinking down the characters into 10 year old kids. I thought this version was actually funnier than the original. It was kind of a satire, and was different in many respects from "Scooby-Doo" ; the characters were more exaggerated, the art was a bit better, and the music was different too (kind of doo-wop? scoo-be-doo-be-doo-doobadee-doo-be-doo-be-doo). The humour was less slapsticky, and more witty and self-deprecating- almost a-la Buffy the Vampire Slayer. There was one guy called "Red Herring" who Fred accused in every single episode, and I also recall in one episode, the Gang went inside Scooby's dog-house, which looked like a normal dog-house from the outside, but was some kind of K9 tardis, that was the size of a mansion inside.

Apperently the show is on in re-runs on the cartoon network, which I don't get on canadian cable.
