as an Everything user, a dim, confused human with occasional glimpses of amazing things... currently living in Sydney, Australia, but one place i really call home is a small village in Papua New Guinea called Medina.

as a wor.d, wantok, in the most commonly used of Papua New Guinea's 1200 languages, Tok Pisin, means literally 'person who speaks the same language', implying a relative or someone from your home village. it can also mean a friend, even&.an outsider for whom you feel some affection or affinity. perhaps loosely translated in this sense to contemporary Amero-English as 'buddy'... or Australo-English as 'mate'..
