The Northern Arizona Conservation Corps, or NACC, is a non-profit organization which employs people (mostly college students) to do physical labour. Based in Flagstaff, and funded by Americorps and Coconino County, NACC does trail maintenance, forest thinning, fence building/repair, non-native species GPS positioning, among other various miscellaneous tasks. Government organizations such as Forest Service, National Parks, among others, contract NACC to do a specific job. People employed by the NACC receive (as of summer, 2002) 6.75/hour, $500 bonus after 1,000 hours, and a $2370 education award by Americorps. Also, it was formerly known as Coconino Rural Environment Corps, and MUCH longer before that, Civilian Conservation Corps.
