Yeehaw Junction is located on
Florida's Turnpike, approximately equidistant from
O-Town and the
Interstate 95 junction at
Fort Pierce, Florida. It's the only sign of
civilization on this lonely stretch of
limited access toll highway, and if you're driving up from
South Florida, you can't miss it thanks to a long, long series of billboards that say, paraphrasedly:
ORLANDO ATTRACTION TICKETS AT YEEHAW
GAS AND FOOD AT YEEHAW
QUIET THE CHILDREN DOWN... STOP AT YEEHAW
VAMOS A YEEHAW! SALIDA 193
PULL OVER AT YEEHAW OR THE PUPPY GETS IT!
If it sounds a bit like
South of the Border, it isn't. There's a small information center, a
BP, and a
Pilot.
Yee-haw,
whoopdie shit. The only reason to stop at Yeehaw is to get
flammables in an emergency, and even then there's an official service center just seven miles to the south that doesn't require pulling off the Turnpike and going through the
toll booth.
