Glittertind (literally meaning "shiny peak")
was previously (and arguable)
Norway's highest
mountain. Recently,
however, some of the
massive glacier covering
the
peak has melted, and it currently
measures 2,464 meters above
sea level,
losing the title to
Galdhøpiggen (which
stretches 2,469 meters).
Glittertind is nevertheless a popular
destination for hardy tourists,
with a fantastic view over the
surrounding peaks and valleys.
