Shakespeare is not believed to have published anything himself; the first real collection of his plays was in the First Folio of 1623. This collection is incomplete by today's standards, as it doesn't include plays like Pericles, which he is believed to have written with others.

There are said to be at least two lost plays of Shakespeare's:

  • Love's Labour Won
  • Cardenio: recently a manuscript has come to light, bearing the story of Cardenio and written in a hand very similar--if not identical--to that of Shakespeare's will; some are willing to believe that this is his Cardenio, while others say it is simply an anonymous play.
