SpherclCow

The name "SpherclCow" comes from the famous joke (with many variations) of a physicist approximating a cow as a sphere to avoid having to worry about the "details". I first encountered the joke in a reading comprehension part of the SATs in high school. A month later, when I became captain (by lack of anyone else being willing) of my high school's Knowledge Bowl team, I suggested we call ourselves "The Sewickley Academy Spherical Cows". We did, and placed first or second in every tournament we entered that year. The two vowles were dropped because I originally used the name on AOL, which at that point had a ten-character limit on screen names, and I never got used to spelling it out completely.
