Vevay, Indiana is a small town in Switzerland County. Located in the southeast corner of the state, on the Ohio River, and it is the county seat.
Vevay has gained some small amount of notoriety through its refusal to accept Daylight Saving Time. When Daylight Saving Time rolls around, Vevay simply changes to Central Standard Time. When Daylight Saving Time ends, the town changes back to Eastern Standard Time.
The provision, while well-intended, has led to more headaches than anything else, due to the majority of the local population working outside of town limits. As a result, local businesses and citizens have taken to reporting times as "fast time" and "slow time" during Daylight Saving Time, to clear up any confusion, with "slow time" denoting CST and "fast time" denoting EST.
