Of these thirty-four candidacies, a little over half have resulted in the candidate actually holding national office, albeit five of these being vice-presidencies (a sixth being a run for the presidency which ended in the VP slot). Still, one must wonder whether a country of hundreds of millions can't find a better spread of political talent than to be going to this same well over and over again. Naturally, the familial connection is even deeper when looking at the legislature, and sometimes extends even into the courts.
