Petri Hawkins-Byrd is known as
Byrd on the hit television show
Judge Judy. He is the court bailiff.
Byrd actually has a College degree from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He worked in the family court system for a while where he met Judy Sheindlin. He was later transfered to San Mateo, CA where he worked as a student counselor at Monte Vista High School. In 1996 he read about Jude Judy starting up a TV court show and wrote her a letter to try and land the bailiff job.
Byrd got the job and still maintains order in the courtroom. He has four kids and a wife.
He has also founded the Teach Them to Fish program where he helps kids.
