British wrestler and film actor who usually plays
heavies and
thugs. He is six feet, six inches tall, resembles an
angry bricklayer and was born in
1943.
Rather like David Prowse, he has managed to appear in more blockbuster films than most film stars - all three 'Indiana Jones' movies, 'Willow', 'Never Say Never Again' and 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves' being the most well-known. In the UK he is also famous for playing 'Bomber' in 'Auf Wiedersehen Pet'.
Remember the Nazi mechanic in 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' who gets chopped into bits by an experimental German aeroplane? That's Pat Roach.
As a wrestler he was known as 'Big' Pat Roach (because he is) and comes from the same period as 'Giant Haystacks' and 'Big Daddy'. Like those two, he is the antithesis of an American-style WWF wrestler, in that he looks like a relatively normal person who has been magnified by a factor of 1.5.
He currently runs his own fitness centre in Birmingham.
