A type of bridge where the crossing is made by an aerial ferry (or gondola) suspended high above the water. Common around the turn of the 20th century on rivers where Tall Ships regularly sailed.

Transporter Bridges used to be common around the world, but most have been demolished during the 20th Century. In the UK only two remain: In Newport and Middlesbrough.
