Town in Northern Wisconsin, noted for beautiful summers and very harsh winters. A strong tourist attraction during the summer, though it also attracts snowmobilers in the winter.

Rhinelander is surrounded by hundreds of lakes, which is what makes it such an attraction in the summer, and so harsh in the winter. It is also surrounded by Nicolet Forrest, filled with deer and other wildlife.

Rhinelander became very famous in early 20th Century when a prankster claimed to have caught a live hodag, an ugly mythical creature. Visitors from all over the world flooded in and paid to see the hoax. The hoax was uncovered when the tent the hodag "lived" in was burned in fire, and it became clear the hodag was just a clever mechanical device.
