1. Cream the butter and sugar together;
  2. Beat in the eggs, a little at a time;
  3. Fold in the flour (already sieved with the baking powder);
  4. Add the oats, bananas and walnut pieces;
  5. Put the mixture in a greased baking tin and smooth over the surface with a spatula
  6. Bake for 30-40 minutes, minimum at 190C/375F, until golden brown.
