R. Daneel Olivaw is a character in several of Isaac Asimov's science fiction novels. A robot shaped like a man who struggles to understand humanity, and to save it from itself.

Sounds like a perfectly reasonable goal in life to me. I'm not nearly as noble - I'm just a spod who likes roleplaying games and LRP and science fiction and fantasy and stuff.
