rOctane
One of the three 'official' other uses of an SGI case. The
other two are the Espressigo and the IndyCase. All three
were build by one guy from SGI Germany.
The rOctane is the merger of the plastic skins of an
Silicon Graphics Octane and a JVC UX-1000 mini stereo
set.
The stereo is build into the chassis, so that it looks out
on top and in front, where usually the hard disks are
mounted. The loudspeakers are attached to the chassis like ears.
The sound of the rOctane is not that great, given the
quality of the stereo system, but it makes a nice
alarm clock.
