One can cultivate the Tao without being Taoist. Possibly one could plant flowers along it, or potatoes for that matter. I prefer to simply walk as I see the Path lead, trusting that it will be a good Way.
And for the record, "vegetarian" does not come from "vegetable". Vegetarians eat more than just vegetables. And to those of you who complain about cruelty to vegetables: surely you agree that animals are at least as sentient and alive as vegetables? If carrot juice is murder, what do you eat?
Yes, I can take a joke. But I have had far too many people attack my vegetarianism with this "argument", not jokingly. To make use of a potentially offensive insult, this is retarded. Please stop it.
