"It's a particle!"
"It's a wave!"
"Stop, you're both right!"

A humorous word invented by George Gamow IIRC (or was it Bohr?) to describe how light behaves sometimes like a wave, sometimes like a particle. Probably arguing about the double-slit experiment. Goethe thought light was... well, but who cares what a poet thought.
