A jar, dish, cup or other container that is employed to accept nondirected gratuity for quality of goods or services rendered in or of a particular establishment, usually found in places such as the ever-venerable coffee house and other 'low rent' places. This contrasts to the classic up-scale restaurant where the tip is paid as part of the bill or even included in it as part of total.
