Street medicine: Street medics, or action medics, are volunteers with varying degrees of medical training who attend protests and demonstrations to provide medical care such as first aid.

Politically, the origins of American street medic groups range from anarchistic (Occupy Movement) to highly hierarchical (Catholic Church), though all agree on the goal of accessible community health.  Organizations with more permanent funding may make regular visits to underserved areas to provide professional primary care, nurses, psychiatrists, podiatrists, addiction counselors, and harm reduction specialists.
