A device commonly hidden in floors or walls of dungeons* to aid in the elimination of delvers. Usually consists of sharp, armor-peircing spikes designed to pierce the delvers, sometimes coated with something noxious and unpleasant. Either the spikes fall on the delver, or the reverse.
