Two more family members with cancer. One is doing well. One is not.

At my Unitarian Church, we sing the children out in most services. The person on the edge of the middle row stands on each side and reaches across the aisle to link hands. We sing:

Go now in peace
Go now in peace
May these words of love surround you
Everywhere
Everywhere
You may go

It is a round. A few of us start in on the second stanza so that it is sung as a round. The children leave the rows and walk under the aisle of arched hands with all of the adults singing them out.

Each time I think of my sickest patients or friends. And when I am with a hospice patient, I think of this song.

Sing them home.
