One of the better propaganda posters I remember seeing during my time in the University of Connecticut computer science engineering program read "A scientist describes what is, an engineer creates what never was", or something similar. I don't believe the quote was attributed to anyone on the poster, I last saw it in the United Technologies Engineering Building at Uconn's Storrs campus, during spring '01. I thought it was a rather compelling quote, and it provoked in me an increased sense of pride and elitism in my chosen major (CSE was/is basically a Computer Science/Computer Engineering double-major, except you only received a single engineering degree for your troubles).
