Yes, it is spelt like that. These differ from ordinary religious beliefs in that they share the pathology of delusions. Commonest in schizophrenia, examples include:

  • that the sufferer is receiving divine messages
  • that the sufferer is the new messiah
  • that strange rituals are ways to achieve some end
  • that some ancient prophecy has spoken of the sufferer
