The parallel minor of a major key is the key that has the same name, only with "minor" at the end; thus, A -> A minor, C# -> C# minor, etc.

To find the parallel minor, add three flats to (or subtract three sharps from) the major key: the parallel minor to C major (no flats) is C minor (three flats).

Contrast with relative minor.
