Spending hours of conversation
with the one who knows you best.
Knowing that you get along
in your carefully crafted faces.
Dreaming in your heart of hearts
of their warm embraces.
But scared to meet in person
just in case it's just a dream.
Knowing on the internet that
nothing's as it seems.
You might fly away to another place
convinced they are your friend.
Only to simply disappear
and be never seen again.
Or perhaps it will be better than
what you dared to know.
But you can only guess and ponder
until you really go.
