In Japanese, "Root-Gate-Temple". A temple on a hill near Kamata station in Tokyo. The site is actually a complex of temples, schools, houses, and other buildings, including a weathered old pagoda. Honmonji is virtually unknown to tourists, despite being one of the calmest points in an otherwise cacophonous mass of humanity.
