A very painful reminder that you should wear gloves when working with fiber optic cabling, particularly when terminating them.

Glass splinters can be very difficult to remove, and hurt a lot; glass is sharp by nature and will quickly work itself under your skin. If you don't wear gloves when terminating fiber, you should be very careful to not impale yourself with the sharp end of a stripped fiber strand.

Terminating fiber is something that requires a very steady hand and a lot of concentration. It is an aggrivating job and I wince whenever I have to do it.
