Every so Often is a phrase meaning "occasionally". It often carries the connotation of "if I feel like it" - It certainly does not imply any urgency. Similar to periodically.
Example: "I get a call from him every so often." Or perhaps, "Every so often, someone adds a new writeup to this node, and then it is deleted."
