A measure of how much a substance can be metabolized and used by an organism. For example, your body needs iron. But a musket ball isn't a particularly good vitamin, because your digestive system can't pull it apart and transport the iron molecules into your blood. It isn't bioavailable.

How metabolically available a drug or other chemical becomes to the target tissue after it's introduced into a person's body.
