1 lb apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1/4 C. melted butter
1/4 C. granulated sugar
1/8 t. nutmeg
1/8 t. cinnamon

Saute the apples in the melted butter for several minutes. Add the sugar and cook for about 7 to 8 minutes longer, turning often. If the apples seem to be too firm, cover the pan and steam for about 5 minutes. Apples should be crispy tender - not too soft. Season with nutmeg and cinnamon and let stand until lukewarm.

Works amazingly well with german panckakes, regular pancakes, or crepes, and makes a nice topping for ice cream.
