An*ach"a*ris (#), n. [NL., fr. Gr. up + grace.] Bot.

A fresh-water weed of the frog's-bit family (Hydrocharidaceae), native to America. Transferred to England it became an obstruction to navigation. Called also waterweed and water thyme.
