Youmans, William Jay, an American chemist; born in Milton, Saratoga co., N. Y., Oct. 14, 1838; was for a number of years editor of the "Popular Science Monthly," succeeding his brother Edward. He died in Mount Vernon, N. Y., April 10, 1901[.]
