Up With Your Kipper was a briefly aired comedy/drama sitcom in the UK from early to mid 1977. The show was so briefly aired because of budget problems (there pretty much wasn't one) and the fact that the cast kept changing. The only member of the show that stayed on for more than two episodes was the ornery veterinarian's assistant Hans Finkle.

The basis for the show was that a group of 5 travelling veterinarians come across all kinds of wacky adventures while answering calls for sick animals. The problems with the budget pretty much limited the animals they visited to a dog (which belonged to one of the cameramen), a rabbit (which was actually just stock footage of a rabbit in a field and then closeups conveniently didn't show it), and a plastic fish. The fish was the best actor on the show.

Now I did say that this was a comedy/DRAMA, which made it extra unbelievable. In epsisode 4, Dr. Maclellen falls in love with the owner of a poodle (who we never see, the poodle I mean), and has to wrestle with the idea of how he could pursue her after he ends up killing her dog. The woman was then revealed to be a jewel thief who had used her dog as a lookout. Needless to say this was so bad it was funny... if you are really high on coke.

Angus Misman was the only cast member that any person would have heard of, who had a comedy troupe in Wales and probably slept with the person who he pitched the show to. Angus started the idea when he ran into a group of comedy students in London, basing it on a sketch his troup did in a show titled "Up Your Mother Next Door". He abandoned the idea after the second episode, but the cast decided to carry the show on, passing roles onto their friends when they lost interest.

Often the show was improved or written the same day as it was shot, and from the looks of it, was written on some sort of material used to wipe one's ass. The show went on for 5 episodes and then was sacked when Michelle Williamson (who was playing the ornery manufacturer of veterinary bags) started a rumor to the press that David Bowie was to make an appearance as the owner of an ill chinchilla, and it never happened.

P.S. Would be great if the show actually existed, no?
P.P.S. "Up Your Mother Next Door" is a Monty Python reference. 900 points if you got it.
