The Undergraduate Medicine and Health Sciences Admission Test must be taken by all budding medicine students in Australia during their final year of secondary school if they want to get into medicine at university.

The UMAT comprises of a series of tests developed by ACER and the University of Newcastle which are designed to "assess a range of non-academic personal qualities which are considered to be important for the study and practice of medicine, dentistry and other health professions."

Basically, they don't want homicidal maniacs becoming doctors. If you want to be a medicine student in Australia, you have to be certified sane by ACER first.
