It isn't as though any
things between then, with the
     back-seat half-views through to
     the crackling gravel of a
     stopped car out the door
     far into the woodland hollow before
     any parent's call could curtail the
     bursts of firecracker leaves crunched kicked
     into a frenzy of swirls by blowhard
     bearhug uncle gusts down for a visit with
     senile grandmother autumn's claws digging
     up goosebumps and shiver giggles only since
     she meant no harm afterall and the boughs that
     trembled with winter's warning whispers get
     ready for snow! they said and I
was, and now
have changed.
