Tim Pat Coogan is one of the best historians and commentators on the
troubles in Ireland. He has written many books of non-ficion including autobiographies of
Michael Collins and
Eamonn De Valera.
He is a great social commentator and is an authority on all matters pertaining to the troubles in
Northern Ireland.
His book on the
IRA is renowned for its accuracy and fact telling.
He also wrote a book called "The
Irish: A Personal View" which I would recomeend to anyone who wants to know what the IRISH are really like.
Sometimes critisised for
Republican views (in the Irish context) but is generally well balanced and non
partisan.
