3 cups sugar
12 heaped teaspoons instant coffee
3 dessert spoons pure vanilla essence
3 cups hot water
13 oz underproof rum

Dissolve sugar and instant coffee in hot water, add vanilla and allow to cool. Add rum and stand 2 weeks or longer.
